CANOE SLALOM SEASON GETS UNDERWAY THIS WEEKEND WITH 2025 OCEANIA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Penrith Whitewater Stadium will host the first Canoe Slalom event of the season this weekend, as the 2025 Canoe Slalom Oceania Championships take place from Friday 24 – Saturday 26 January.

Competitors from across the globe have arrived in Penrith for the Oceania Championships, with athletes from 16 nations set to take part.

Olympic gold medalists Jessica and Noemie Fox will compete on home soil for the first time since their memorable gold medal haul at the Paris Olympic Games, when they line up this weekend.

They’ll be joined by eight Paris Olympic medalists, including Men’s Kayak Cross champion Finn Butcher (NZL) and French Olympic silver medalist Titouan Castryck.

The Oceania Championships will be an important one on the 2025 calendar, as it doubles as a selection event for the 2025 Australian Senior team which will compete on the World Cup circuit, and the 2025 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships which will be staged down under from 1-6 October 2025.
